Ready for SkillsUSA Week?

Next week is SkillsUSA Week! From Feb. 5-9, your chapter can participate in many ways. Plan activities that follow the daily schedule for chapters nationwide. Whether you honor school staff with a thank-you breakfast, invite a partner to speak at a chapter meeting, make a presentation to a community group or celebrate your members, students can grow their skills and demonstrate that SkillsUSA is an important factor in their personal and professional development.

Have your SkillsUSA Week committee or chapter officers review the activities now and select a few to implement. Download the Program Guide and SkillsUSA Week Activity Sets.

The SkillsUSA Advocacy Site offers two editable letter templates to promote your chapter to the media or write to elected officials. After SkillsUSA Week, be sure to share your stories, photos or links, and we may feature your chapter on social media or on the national website in our SkillsUSA Week photo album.

SkillsUSA Advisor and Student Feedback Needed

SkillsUSA is eager to hear advisor and student feedback to assess their needs and preferences. We have prepared a brief survey for advisors to assess your needs at the local level. Your opinions will be instrumental in shaping the future initiatives of SkillsUSA to ensure that we provide the best possible support for our members.

SkillsUSA has also prepared a brief survey for your students. Given the importance of representing the diverse perspectives of our members across different states, we kindly request your assistance in distributing this survey to your student members if your local policies allow. Student input will significantly contribute to our understanding of regional variations and enhance the overall effectiveness of our initiatives.

The surveys should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. Your support is valuable and we thank you in advance. Responses are confidential, and the information collected will be used solely for the purpose of enhancing our organization's offerings. We appreciate your commitment to SkillsUSA and look forward to hearing your feedback.

 SkillsUSA College/Postsecondary Scholarships Open!

SkillsUSA members anticipating tuition expenses for the summer or fall 2024 academic terms can apply now for scholarships made available through SkillsUSA and generous industry partners. SkillsUSA uses the Kaleidoscope scholarship platform for a streamlined application experience. Scholarship applications require a letter of recommendation from a SkillsUSA advisor or another instructor, a resume and a brief essay. Scholarship recipients are notified by email and must submit an acceptance form. Funds for scholarship awards are remitted directly to the recipients’ postsecondary institutions and applied to the student’s account balance. These scholarships are competitive and applying for a scholarship does not guarantee your selection. To get started, visit the scholarships page on the website to see scholarship opportunities and award amounts. The scholarship application period ends April 15. For questions, contact our Customer Care Team.
